Principal's Message

Dear Southmont Jr High Students and Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Southmont Jr High. I am humbled and honored to be part of this amazing campus working alongside the extraordinary staff and students.

I come to Southmont with 17 years of experience as an educator in a variety of manners. I recently served as a Behavior Specialist/Assistant Administrator/District High Ability Coordinator at Rockville Elementary School for the 2020-2021 School Year. During this time, I supported students with behavioral issues inside the classroom teaching coping/calming strategies to help mitigate behaviors. Before this, I served as an Instructional Coach for Corpus Christi ISD in Corpus Christi, Texas mentoring and supporting teachers at a high ability campus, perfecting their teaching practices and creating opportunities for success.

I am a believer that student success happens when teachers, students, and parents work together, creating an environment rich in high expectations and collaborative experiences. I am excited to begin this journey as you principal here at Southmont Jr. High and cannot wait to get to know your family in the 2021-2022 school year!
